There were about three dozen of them yesterday I believe near s.w. 312 st exit along the Florida Turnpike. This was about 7:00 a.m., near the turnpike bridge in this area. This is one of many bridges along the turnpike that they breed under. I have seen the Caribbean race every month of the year. The bulk of the nest near s.w. 216 st. and the turnpike, are not under this bridge. They are under s.w. 216 st. bridge that goes over the canal just east of the turnpike. Another large group of nest is were the turnpike goes over the canal due north of s.w. 216 st. along the perimeter road that parallels the canal.
They are not nesting at this time of year, but can sometimes be seen early in the morning and late in the day near these bridges.
