Let me move this topic to the top again because I think it is important.

1. Does the comment that the webmaster "doesn't post photos" mean that he/she personally doesn't or that pictures will be not permitted any longer? The former is a preference the latter is a page policy enforceable by deletion or shunning or whatever.

2. I suggest that posting in moderation of pictures helps all see what others saw, maybe clarify that an ident is wrong, or show the field markings "as is" and not as artist and repro's print it.

3. I often encounter people who monitor the page but don't post...known in the field as "lurkers". Without exception they appreciate the fact that once in a while pictures are presented that help to focus the topic on the bird.

4. Case in point: as is obvious I appreciate Wakodahatchee since I live in north Broward. Many times I hear tourists pointing out the limpkin as a glossy ibis....they are beginners....learning as we all learned. Yes they have all the books and field guides but as noted above sometimes it isn't all that easy especially with warblers, peepers, etc. The posted picture is no advertisement or reference to a collection I have elsewhere but virtually a "give-away" since it's out there. But, I suggest that the fact that the bird is standing on a boardwalk, and very close, and clearly identified as a limpkin results in; 1) less confusion with the glossy ibis, 2) points out that Wakodahatchee may be a nice place to visit, 3) you have a 100% chance of seeing birds within 25 feet

5. I enjoy and refer often to the pictures of the really rare birds such as the spindalis conversation thread, the gulls, etc. The pictures show me the local area, the exact bird in question that everyone is excited about, etc.

6. I also enjoy the younger members (Alex and Felipe) and their enthusiasm and photography of their rare sightings. Didn't we all begin that way?

7. Please note that moderation is the keyword....I am not suggesting a free-for-all. But so far I don't find the pictures posted excessive or out of line.

8. But it's your board. So, are we talking more moderators here, more money (I'll donate), not enough bandwidth, or just a personal choice of TAS?

9. I believe that what is presently being shown makes this board very educational, worthwhile, and hasn't struck me as being overly crowded with pictures. I hope that it stays this way.

10. I refer back to #1 and respectfully request a more specific response.
