This morning we set off in search of one bird species particularly, Connecticut Warbler. Bob Wallace from Gainseville is making his way south and was hoping to see one while on his trek. We called Bob which was birding the other end of the trail. We gave him directions and then had to dip to work. About 200 yards south of the white gate you will see a pond on your east side. Along the southern edge of the pond popped up a female Connecticut, stayed up just long enough to confirm the ID and then dropped down onto the understory. This week is the window for Connecticut Wabler and Bicknell's Thrush, get out and search for these rare species :)

other migrants seen today:
Common Yellowthroat
Northern Parula
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Cape May Warbler
Prarrie Warbler
Indigo Bunting
Gray Kingbird (4 birds total, perched in two pairs)
Spotted Sandpiper (flying overhead)
Bobolink (3 males landed but the rest of the flock continued overhead)
Great Cormorant
Least Tern

Nature is Awesome
