A friend and I are considering an overnight canoe trip to see the birds out of Flamingo, ENP. If they are reliably seen in the southern end of the lake, this is far more easy than if they are sometimes seen at the NW inlet. Has anyone seen the birds away from the SW part of the lake (indicated on ebird)? I understand they may depart the lake at low tide.

Alternatively, we may just rent a skiff from Flamingo- its $165/$195 for 4/8 hours +fuel. If you would be interested in splitting costs and joining us for this option let me know. We would probably try to take advantage of the good weather Tues or Wed of the upcoming week.

Fianlly, are these birds likely birds from the Caribbean or from the Race Track population I have read about?

Thanks for your help.
