What a fabulous day! It's great that the Cape is still producing. Pine Warbler seems to be an annual fall visitor to Cape Florida and I usually see them around the open mound area. They seem to show up late in the season and don't stick around. Years ago David La Puma found one inside the hammock.

Lincoln's Sparrow shows up in Cape Florida almost every fall. Sparrows usually arrive in the park late October and remain through mid-November. Other than Grasshopper Sparrows, the other sparrows seem to disappear after November -- perhaps drifting north with mild weather? Lincoln's, Clay-colored, Vesper, Grasshopper, Lark, Chipping, Savannah, White-crowned, Swamp, White-throated and Seaside Sparrow have all been recorded in the park. Before the east side of the Red Mangrove forest was planted, Nelson's Sparrow wintered in the grassy areas.
