I know I'm not in South Florida but I know many of you birders down south have experience with Yellow-bellied Flycatcher from a few years back. Today in Kissimmee I found an empid that was rather dark olive above and with very lemony yellow underparts that formed a triangle-shaped wash In the breast. It had a fairly big headed appearance and the tail did not look too long. It had a clear yellowish eye ring that was slightly teardrop shaped and it appeared to have slightly buffy wingbars (I did not get a good look at the wings). The bird sat about 8th off the ground in the center of a smallish tree and frequently flicked it's tail upwards. It instantly struck me as different and pictures of Acadian flycatchers seem too pale and grayish underneath. I immediately thought this bird was a yellow-bellied but I'm young and have never seen this species before. Does this species tend to flick it's tail upwards and can hey have buffish yellow wingbars in fall, or is it an Acadian? Please help.
