Brian. . . . Tigertail Beach can be a hot-or-miss situation as you have found out, I have not found any of the larger shorebirds there for quite a while, even after hiking all the way to the end of the spit. I'm still lacking American Oystercatcher, Long-billed Curlew & Marbled Godwit for my Collier County Big Year. I hope to remedy that in the next few weeks by going out to some of the more obscure islets and secluded beaches accessible only by boat when I help Ted Below do some shorebird surveys. The last Long-billed Curlew seen in Collier County, of which I an aware, was seen at Cape Romano shoals and seen as part of the Ten Thousand Islands CBC on January 4th. I have made at least three attempts to find those darn Bronzed Cowbirds at Eagle Lakes Park failing miserably! I'll be there later on Sunday to try to duplicate your success. Where exactly did you see them? Were they in a mixed flock of blackbirds out past the gazebo or along the fence by the baseball field?
