I saw several birds that I believe were Short-billed Dowitchers based on the extensive barring on relatively light flanks and light speckling on the breast, which was more than what I've seen on Long-billed Dowitchers. A couple of those birds that I thought were Short-billed had relatively short bills compared to their compatriots. Then again, I don't claim to be an expert on distinguishing the two species, so it's possible that my ID was not correct.
