I forgot to mention in my post that the cats at Barnes appear to be increasing again. There were a few in the nature center area, with one small clean-looking orange/white cat an obvious recent release. It was very friendly and at one point I was tempted to bring it home. It's a shame that these cats end up here instead of with a family that will give them love. The largest concentration of cats was near the FKA homeless hammock area, just south of the swimming pool. I suspect this is where they are being fed. A couple of the cats in the nature center seemed to be stalking, while the small friendly one was playing with a small snake.

In addition to the cats, I've seen the same lady two days in a row walking her HUGE dogs through the park including the nature trail.

If the cats and dogs aren't bad enough, Trey, Bill and I encountered a middle-aged man riding an ATV TROUGH THE NATURE CENTER! This doesn't just take the cake; it takes the whole bakery. He drove through the pines several times and as we walked down the path east of the nature center he came up the same path from the wellness center area. This is where we confronted him and Bill politely told him this activity was not allowed. I also told him, but I was not as polite.

What's the point in preserving sensitive natural areas if we are to allow cats, dogs, bicycles, and now ATVs inside them?
