I was able to bird the whole day today, during migration! How often does that happen? Our church put together a Disney trip for the kids, and my wife took our daughters, and the camera. Although I enjoyed the freedom, I really missed the kids...and the camera.

I met Bill and Trey at Barnes, and as Bill already mentioned we had 13 warbler species including 2 Blackburnians, a Prothonotary, and a Yellow. We also had a Baltimore Oriole, 2-3 Summer Tanagers, 2 Eastern Wood-Pewees, Blue Grosbeak, Painted Bunting and a Thrush that was either a Swainson's or Gray-cheeked, although I'm leaning towards Swainson's.

I then met Rock "year of the" Jetty at Castellow and immediately saw the Chestnut-sided Warbler seen by Rafael yesterday. It was in the tree over the yellow container. We also had another Yellow Warbler. In the trail we found a male Hooded Warbler between markers 17 and 18, and a few other warblers, but those were the only two I added to my day's list. We then headed to the C-357, the area that had all those sparrows last winter, in hopes of finding a Lark Sparrow. We did not, but we found 3 Northern Waterthrushes and two somewhat early Palm Warblers. We then went to the Chikika area where we found another Pewee, lots of Eastern Kingbirds, an Oriole (probably Northern, but looks were brief), and 2 Common Yellowthroats for the day's warbler tab.

I then went on alone to Research Road to add Pine Warbler to my days' list. On the way out I checked Lucky Hammock and the Annex. At Lucky I had the only bird I regretted not having the camera for: an awesome male Baltimore Oriole atop a tree with good light. The Annex was pretty quite, but I got 2 Alder Flycatchers for the day.
