Hi David,
My bird-finding guided states that the Hialeah flamingos came from Cuba. I don't remember what my source was; neither Robertson and Woolfenden (1992) nor Stevenson and Anderson (1994) discuss the provenance of the flock.
Regardless, photos of the Hialeah flock available online (e.g., the Hialeah Racetrack website) prove that the birds are American Flamingos.
