Bronzed Cowbird!

My roomate has got into the habit of sprinkling bird seed on the sidewalk in front of my house. Usually a bunch of collared, mourning (no white-winged yet- although they are in this neighborhood) doves, house sparrows, and blue jays eat the seed. Today, they were joined by a bronzed cowbird! It had reddish orange eyes, so it could have been a young adult. Exciting, but maybe not good since there's a pair of spot-breasted orioles in the yard. They actually flew right by it while it was eating. On a different note, I still see a small flock (for over a year now) of budgerigers around here, yesterday one was checking out the seed, but didn't come down.
