Hi! I live not too far from the zoo and I am getting the Bronzed Cowbirds daily. Recently I have seen a rather interesting display. A single bird will strut around under my feeder all puffed up and then it flies up to about three feet off the ground and maintains a hovering position for a few seconds. The head and tail are held in a downward position while hovering. Then two or three more Bronzed Cowbirds land on the ground near the hovering bird. I have seen this behavior at least three times in the last week and a half.
It is a very interesting sight to see!
