After a great morning with everyone (thanks, John), my daughter and I headed out to Oasis Center, where we set out with Brownie Troop 80 on a "swamp slog". Hiking out to a cypress dome, we navigated through a muddy morass which frequently got up above our ankles, but the real fun was in the dome itself, where the girls bravely fought through water over their bellies! Birds were scarce (a troop of muddy, wet 9 year old girls makes a fair degree of high-pitched noise) but a great time was had by all.

We did manage a Blue-headed Vireo in the Oasis picnic area, and several Red-shouldered Hawks and Ospreys during the walk.

On the way home, I pulled into the Snail Kite spot, and had 3 Snail Kites hunting relatively close to the road.
