TAS Trip Report Shark Valley/ Loop Road 2-20-2010

Group-16 people thanks to Ron Kern and Arnie Mannis for pictures

Highlights: The group got great views of Snail Kite, great views of usual waders at Shark valley. We struggled to get 10 warblers species. We got great views of Short tail Hawks soaring and great views and pictures of a Barred Owl. At Shark Valley. Two parts of the group heard King Rails. At the very end Russ Titus and John Boyd tracked down a Swamp sparrow!!! Hard to find plenty around bird.

We had 72 species.

Pied billed Grebe, Anhinga, DC Cormorant, White Ibis, Glossy Ibis, Wood Stork, GB Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Cattle Egret, Tri-colored Heron, little Blue Heron, green Heron, Black crowned Night Heron, YC night Heron, Limpkin, King Rail -2 (H) ,Purple Gallinule, Moorhen, Killdeer, EC Dove, T Vulture, B Vulture, Snail Kite, Harrier, Red Shouldered Hawk, Short tail Hawk-2 (1W-1D),Osprey, Barred Owl, Kingfisher, Downy woodpecker, YB Sapsucker(3), RB Woodpecker, Flicker, Great Cr Flycatcher, Pheobe, Blue Jay, American Crow, Starling RW Blackbird, C Grackle, BT Grackle, Cardinal, Tree Swallow, BH Vireo, WE Vireo, BW Warbler-11,Parula Warbler-18 , YR Warbler, YT Warbler, BTG Warbler-(1), Pine Warbler, Palm Warbler, Prairie Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, Yellowthroat, Mockingbird, Catbird, Carolina Wren, Tufted Titmouse -5,RC Kinglet, BG Gnatcatcher, Robin -200 Cedar Waxwing-20,Swamp sparrow-1 Rock Pigeon
