Gary and I started off the first day of the new year birding at Lucky Hammock. It was dark, foggy and a full moon still in the sky - but no short-eared owls were seen! As the morning light increased we met up with Raul starting his "Year of the Jetty"! Good luck Raul! Below is our list of new "year" birds for the morning. Happy New Year to all!

Scissor-tailed Flycatchers - 2 on the wires near the entrance
