I wonder whatever happened to those old large trees at Matheson Hammock (west side of the road). Maybe they were knocked down by storms & hurricanes (esp. Andrew (in '92?)). When I was there in 1978/79, there were parrots and White-winged Parakeets there, ncluding the nursery behind. The parakeets sometimes flew (noisily) over my parents' yard on SW 84th Terrace on their way to that roost.
