We had a pair of Orange-fronted (Half moon) Parakeets back in 1978/79 also. I think they wanted to use the birdbath, but were too timid to come down out of a silk oak (ornamental)tree in the yard. Also, an Amazona of some kind stopped by, and a Rose-ringed Parakeet was seen flying down the road. And a Blue & Gold Macaw was flying past Castellow Hammock on one of my visits.
