Good afternoon all,
The description of the bird ("the belly was yellow all over") does not fit the race of Thick-billed Vireo (crassirostris) that has been documented in Florida. This race has pale underparts with little or no yellow; the underparts are more of a grayish/buff, with some pale yellow tones visible at close range.
Earlier (1980s) North American field guides illustrated one of the yellowish-bellied races of Thick-billed Vireo, but all photographic records from Florida are of crassirostris.
Best regards,
Bill Pranty
