Loxahatchee

I know that this is primarily a Miami area board, I am just curious why I never see anything about Loxahatchee. I see many posts about Palm Beach, Green Cay, and Wakodahatchee, but in the 2 years I have been monitoring this site, I think Loxahatchee was mentioned only a couple times. Is it worth a trip there?. Is the new visitor center open, and besides that area around the center, where are the areas in the park to check out? I live in Pompano and am always looking for areas around me rather than driving down to Miami. Any suggestions welcome.
