I just bought a pair of Vector Stokes DLS 8x42 binoculars that have superb clarity and get outstanding reviews. MSRP is $1009 but Eagle Optics offers them for $879, with a "birder's stimulus package" currently offered for $499 with free shipping and no tax. You certainly won't be disappointed with these binoculars!! They're equal to much more expensive Swarovski and Leica binoculars I've had the pleasure to look through.
