My husband Dave found the Caracara on 2/8 and it was verified by our friends, John and Chadda Shelly and me. We had stopped at Cutler Wetlands hoping to see the Black-headed Gull and then were on our way to look for the Tropical Kingbird when Dave spied a white head amongst a group of TV's along the rim of the dump. Thinking it was a bit unusual, we drove back to the Wetlands where we told Carl Edwards and friend, who in turn went to see it. When we got back to find the Tropical Kingbird, it was right out in the open!
Has the Caracara been seen in that area before?
