Yeah, really. I read recently that the "power outages" were not really true and that squirrels do just as much ( if any) damage. That the power companies were making an excuse about this that was unfounded.
Those lines that the parakeets ( or parrots, ( about 5000 volts), non-insulated wires. If they touched them, they would be "fried parrots" really quick. So I don't think the transmission is diminished as much as the power people claim.
We did, after all, at one time, have native parakeets, the Carolina parakeet all over the east. Just my opinion on this one.
