A good rule of thumb with Nashville Warblers is that there is a patch of white where the legs meet the body. Otherwise, it is all yellow to yellow washed. Also, there is usually a bit of a difference in the shade of the head (tends to gray) and the back (tends to olive green).

The general body shape of your bird is all Common Yellowthroat. That is not the tail of a Redstart.

According to the behavior you describe, the bird is acting like a Common Yellowthroat. I have never seen Nashville Warblers down low in the shrubs -- always high up in the trees, foraging in a frenetic manner and flying from tree to tree. I've only seen them twice, though, but that has been my experience with both of them.

There is no way you could mistake a Nashville for a Common Yellowthroat though, after seeing them.
