I was also going to note that it seems I have been seeing more shrikes, in more areas. One (or more) took up residence on my own block a couple years ago. We certainly have a variety of exotic lizards here. What is that raptor looking thing with a large crest, that runs on its hind legs? I also saw a python a few years back, that was about 6" in diameter. I never saw the whole snake, just a small section through a "window" in the grass as it moved by. It seemed to take forever for all of it to roll through. And I seem to see a new species (to me) in the water every few months. There's some 12" gamefish looking fish, I can't recall exactly, but I think it's named after a cat, like, tiger fish or something, it's strongly patterned. Yesterday morning I saw my first coyote in Florida - in SW Ranches! See my other post. While humans are causing mass extinctions, we are also providing new opportunities for many organisms.
