Hi Tom,
Your bird probably is not a King Rail, which should be much brighter brown on the underparts, wing, and cheek.
The bird looks most like a Clapper Rail, of which ther are a few specimen records inland in Florida. However, the identification between the two species--especially during winter when other subspecies of Clapper Rails occur in Florida--is difficult (perhaps impossible) based solely on photographs.
