If the FWC website is not mistaken there has been one nest site in Broward county back in 1997. The nest was discovered but nesting activity was not found therefore it seems that it is classified as a unused nest. The nest was located in the Everglades/Broward county line which is already too far into the glades. Then you wonder why are the Eagles setting up a nest there.
The nest was located @ Longitude 80 51.10, Latitude 26 04.40. This may be the location of your mystery nest, if so it has been there since last year or it might be a new nest site.
