Early this morning as I was having coffee and trying to figure out who was bopping around in the yard (a phoebe), one of the hummers came to the feeder about a foot away. As there is one bird that will feed with me standing in front of the feeder I didn't think much about it.Then I noticed something odd. No tail.
None. Smooth as could be. It doesn't seem to impair flying ability at all but it made me wonder, is this a normal moulting or did something try to catch the poor little girl ?
I am assuming that this is the same bird just a wee bit more skittish due to the no tail thing...
(Hopefully when the sun comes to that side of the house I can get a better shot)
