I was there Saturday Morn for about 2 hrs. and saw 3 Sandhill Cranes fly over Lucky Hammock & land in the field east of the thicket across the road from the hammock. Also saw several Baltimore orioles (1 male), a Pileated Woodpecker fly over, Black-throated Blue, Prairie, Black & White Warblers, Red-eyed Vireo, Bell's Vireo, Harriers, and I coulda sworn, a flock of 10-15 Cedar Waxwings, flying fast & due South. I since have been corrected on my last observation as Waxwings are later in the winter, but I wish I knew what I saw. They didn't have the markings of Boblinks and they didn't fly like starlings. What I did notice was their color was a uniform, smooth brown on the back and a lighter belly. They had a prominant marking on the face. They flew by so fast I didn't get a definite, but I've seen waxwings fly in flocks & that was what they reminded me of.
