Thanks for the URL for the tagged AWPE info. I don't know about the rest of south Florida, but I can tell you that in the 10 or more years I have been birding sw Florida, there are relatively very few AMPEs that stay the summer here, even in places like Ding Darling NWR or the Chokoloskee/Ten Thousand Islands NWR area where these birds are pretty common throughout the other three seasons, especially winter. I've never seen more than 5-6 AMPEs in sw Florida in summer. Of course, being inland and near Lake Okeechobee might have a different effect on the AMPEs in those areas or areas in south Florida like the Miami/Everglades/Florida Keys. Anyone care to chime in from those areas about summering AMPEs?
