Yes, Troy and I identified a Hairy Woodpecker last Thursday evening (May 10) when we unsuccessfully searched for the Bahama Mockingbird. I first heard it then saw it banging and chipping away at a utility pole near the sign that advertises the Cape Florida Lighthouse tours (also near the picnic area.) I mentioned it to a couple of other birders who had been waiting all day for the Mocker to show, but no one seemed that interested. I did not know this is a first record for the Park. Cool.
