I believe Miguel Padura and I heard this woodpecker last Saturday when we were looking for the BAMO at Cape Florida. We were in the vicinity of the green tape placed for the Mocker when we heard a rapid tapping and a woodpecker call unlike that of the locals. It was deep in the brush and we never did get a look at it. I suggested it might be a Hairy (when we exhausted all other options) and was met with incredulity and derision. Could have been . . . .
