Limpkins do not need any distress to be ear-splittingly loud. They do tend to be noisier during mating season, and also shriek to find each other after they have established pairs. I also worry about violence from non-bird-loving surburbanites who can't be thrilled to have these formerly shy swamp birds suddenly camped out on their roof or in their yards. They looove canals and back yards now ;)
