I was looking for the anis about two weeks ago, we ran into some police who asked what we were doing there. The police officer looked at us and said, "don't you know where you are"? Don't you see the neighborhood? He told me that they have many, many car jackings in the area and warned us to stay away from this area.
I mention this so that other birders are aware of the "risk" of looking for the birds here.
