TRIP REPORT- TAS TRIP NORTH BROWARD 02-03-2007

Participants: 16-- Total Species -70

Highlights:
Fern Forest: Screech Owl (1) Painted Bunting- (1), American Robin-(120), Brown Thrasher-(1),White Eyed Vireo- (2), Blue Headed Vireo-(4) , Orange Crowned Warbler- (4), Prairie Warbler-(3) Grasshopper Sparrow- (1), Blue Crowned Parrot- (3)

Windmill Park: Ruddy Duck- (8), Lesser Scaup Duck (16) Great views

Broward Community College: Burrowing Owl-(4), Great views and hopefully great photos from Brian Monk and John Boyd, Purple Martin-(3)

Eastlin Park: Gourmet Picnic Lunch by some and Golden Arch trans fats for others. We are truly a bird club that embraces diversity ---Birds: Cooper hawk-(2), Harrier- (1) Flying near airport off Powerline Road., Blue Headed Vireo (2), Redstart (1), Black and White Warbler-(1).

Pompano Landfill Lakes: Over 2500 gulls: Lesser black Back-(120), Wood stork-(1), Lesser Scaup Duck-(12), Black Hooded Parrots-(8)

Reptile: Gopher Tortoise Butterflies: Zebra, Malachite, Monarch, Gulf Fritillary, Dainty Sulphur, Peacock, Queen, Cassius Blue, Giant Swallowtail, Julia, Cloudless Sulphur, Ruddy Dagger wing.


After birding celebratory libation provided by Paul Life is good Bithorn.
