Actually, I was referring to the court of public opinion--I always assumed scientific rigor involved the ability to test a hypothesis by repeating results, thus eliminating ALL doubt--a far more demanding standard than "beyond a reasonable doubt". Once any of the supposed sightings, sounds, scalings are verified with a photo or video, then I'll believe.(And where pray tell are feathers, eggshells, nest materials, or dna of these oft sighted-never photgraphed birds?). Nothing would be better than to find this bird still hanging on somewhere-but faith and hope won't make the proof happen.
