This afternoon I stopped at the access road west of Old Cutler Road at Matheson Hammock and heard, and shortly after saw an Alder Flycatcher. It was very cooperative, and was located at the western end of the access road, where the hammock ends and the vegegation becomes more open. There were a few warblers around, including 2 Magnolias, and a Summer Tanager. Is it just me or do there seem to be more Empids around than usual?
