Seems I let the pessimist in me take over. After looking at photos online and speaking with Alex, I retract my no-show on the Ruff. Near the area were I saw the Wilson's Phalaropes there was a bird with bright yellow legs, larger than a lesser yellowlegs, but with a big, fat belly (that's OK, so have I). It walked around holding its butt in the air, as if it was leaning forward. It looked shorter-legged than a yellowlegs. This bird stuck out, but for some reason I was expecting something different. It was in the flooded sod fields just west of the entrance to Roth Sod Road. If anyone goes there be sure to check out this area before heading to the muddy field down the road.
