I saw in my backyard today what I believe was a Northern waterthrush. ( I have the Audubon Field Guide in hand). This bird had the distinctive white stripe over the eyes and the spotted breast, but not that of a Wood thrush ( which , of course is a real thrush as opposed this water thrush, which is listed as a wood warbler).
Can this be? Is it too early?
