Wow, gosh I have a string going here! I believe the bird that I saw yesterday was a northern waterthrush, after looking at the photos in the ( of course) Audubon field guide. It had the darker coloring, as opposed to the Lousiana,which looks to have slightly lighter coloring.
I was able to watch the bird for about 5 minutes at fairly close range thru my binoculars.
As for the wood thrushes in Miami shores, I am pretty sure that is what we saw a couple of years ago.
