Hi I hope this is of interest to this board. I have recently been observing some very small owls that are raising a family in trees next to my property. At dusk they come out and there are approx. 6 or 7 in total. The babies fly from tree branch to tree branch while they are being fed by the parents. They make a crying sound until satisfied. They are small as mentioned already probably no larger than 6 to 7 inches tall and from what I can tell they look like they are Northern Saw-Whet owls. Although all the info. I can get says they do not go this far south. But they sure look like the photos. My son took a picture of one that sat on a tree very close to us so I can document what owl it is. My location is in Pinecrest, Fl.
