With the end of January approaching I jumped at the opportunity to play along with the Miami Birding Wave's January Challenge of a Big Day (http://miamibirdingwave.com/2014/12/30/january-miami-big-day-whos-in/) BUT I decided to make things interesting. After Carlos' article on the state of wintering warblers in South Florida (http://miamibirdingwave.com/2015/01/18/miami-the-abas-wintering-warbler-capital/) I thought it would be really fun to do a Warbler Big Day. With 25 possible species I spent a couple weeks working out a plan of attack. Jared Guerra and I started up north at Greynolds and ended down south at Chapman Field. We ended with 20 species, missing Swainson's Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Blue-winged Warbler, Tennessee Warbler and Yellow-breasted Chat (which might not be a warbler for much longer).

Greynolds:
1. Louisiana Waterthrush
2. Ovenbird

Enchanted Forest:
3. Black-and-White Warbler
4. Worm-eating Warbler
5. Northern Parula
6. Yellow-rumped Warbler
7. Common Yellowthroat
8. Palm Warbler
9. Black-throated Green Warbler
10. Prairie Warbler
11. Yellow-throated Warbler

Virginia Key:
12. Wilson's Warbler

Cutler Wetlands:
13. American Redstart
14. Yellow Warbler

Deering Estate at Cutler:
15. Black-throated Blue Warbler
16. Pine Warbler
17. Northern Waterthrush

Coral Reef Park:
18. Magnolia Warbler
19. Orange-crowned Warbler
20. Cape May Warbler
