If I may butt in...a 1:4 or 1:3 sugar-water mixture is all you need in the feeders. Weaker solutions won't cut the mustard; stronger solutions are harder for the birds to ingest (and have unknown possible long-term health effects).

For everything you ever wanted to know about hummingbirds, feeding hummingbirds, gardening for hummingbirds, thinking like a hummingbird...etc...come to the Dark Side: HUMNET.
