Two Eastern Kingbirds in a group of about 12 at Chapel Trail Nature Preserve in Pembroke Pines on August 24, 2014 had noticeably brown wings and back. I assumed they may have been first year birds, as they contrasted with the others in the flock. No remnant yellow gape was visible to support my opinion, and BNA does not mention this plumage stage. Have others noticed this, and has it been analyzed?
