Thanks for this message. It confirms that what I saw today (6/24) were indeed lesser black-backed. I was there with the family on a beach-day and it was very pleasing to see these birds. I wasn't too sure what they were since they are young birds. Also saw the sandwich, lots of least and royal terns, and the semipalmated plover. Some juvenile least terns mixed in with the adults. Nice day, and my daughter had a great time too!
