Bobwhite, florida subspecies?

I recently got my first good look at a Bobwhite (see link) at Lake Marian near Kissimmee. HBW illustrates the Florida subspecies without the black collar and with muted white spots, and mine looks like the more widespread subspecies. Wondered if anyone knew anything about the Florida subspecies and its differences.
