Wood ducks do nest in dade somewhere, I would bet. Back in 1994, while doing hammock restoration at elaine spear's farm on the east side of castellow (castellow parcel 2, I think) we would see wood duck hens flying the treeline looking for cavities. I have no idea where water is in that area. They don't seem to need water that close by to nest. My friend dale holton in lake worth gets the trifecta in his birdhouses most years, screech owls, pileateds and wood ducks, and he is nowhere close to water.
