Yesterday I was hanging out with Jim Eager and his friend Robert during Jim's June Big Day for his 12 Day Big Year). We went to Tropical Park to see the Wood Ducks and found them. As we were getting ready to leave, a park employee (Pablo) came up to us in his golf cart and told us they were released there by his friend from the Gulf Coast. This would explain the bands on the legs. Jim said he couldn't count them as they were captive-raised, released birds. Pablo also said his friend had been coming to feed them.
