I spent some some on the eastern side of Matheson Hammock (from 1:35-4:15). I could not relocate the Kentucky, but I did easily see both Hooded Warblers. Along with most of the species Carlos had earlier, I added a fly-over Solitary Sandpiper and Ovenbird. The Yellow-breasted sang most of the time near the bathrooms, but popped out into view only once to pluck an insect off the sidewalk.

Thinking I could add a few warbler species to the day list, I made my way over to A.D. Barnes, only to find it painfully slow. Homeless Hammock was devoid of anything but a Prairie, two Palms, and a Northern Parula. Finding more feral cats than migratory birds, I was relieved to find two Swainson's Warblers. The first Swainson's was in the hammock on the southwest side of the elevated boardwalk, between the boardwalk and the SW 72 Avenue. The second was associating with an Ovenbird beside the path that runs between the large fountain and the scout cabins. I spooked a feral cat into the hammock, and it scared the Swainson's and an Ovenbird into view as it fled. This makes for the most useful feral cat-passerine interaction I've ever seen.

Closer to sunset, I made my way to Brewer Park off of Miller Drive for several parrot species that have been reported recently. While waiting for the parrots to arrive, I was entertained by a number of warbler species and a sharp male Scarlet Tanager. A Peregrine Falcon and five Swallow-tailed Kites circled overhead at one point. Red-masked and Yellow-chevroned Parakeets were around, and four Orange-winged Parrots, two Chestnut-fronted Macaws and two Blue-and-yellow Macaws passed by the park towards dusk, but none seemed to be roosting around the park.
