The buff-bellied hummeer continues to be easy to find at Fairchild Garden. Wait at the Pavonia bush (with VERY inconspicuous yellow flowers) behind a wooden bench next to the yellow glass art piece that looks like a spiky pinata hanging from a tree. This hummingbird has a brilliant emerald green gorget. Absolutely breath-taking. No one has published it yet in their photos, because the bird only flashes it when he feels like it, usually in flight. Sun angle makes no difference.
Hopefully this bird will stay here all winter.
